Cruikshank illustrations

Apparently, many editions of the book have illustrations of it. They are done by a man with the last name of Cruikshank. I think that they are very interesting. I also think that they may have helped me understand the last twenty chapters a little more. After all, who doesn't love a picture book? I attached some pictures of the illustrations on here, but there is many more! Check them out, just by googling "illustrations cruikshank".

  1. Personally, I don't really like pictures because they usually depict things that I didn't imagine in my head which makes causes me to rethink who and what everyone looks like. Thus taking away the creativity and imagination brought to the reader when reading.

  2. I agree with Tony that it ruins the picture in your mind, but it's also nice to have the scenes in front of me if I'm not sure what's going on. Thanks for sharing the pictures! I also wondered if maybe this is the picture book that Swede alludes to when she mentions the Oliver Twist picture book she had read....

  3. I have these in my book! I liked seeing the artist's interpretation of the characters. I appreciate the art techniques used...

Also on a slightly unrelated note, the artist's name sounds an awful lot like Hermione's cat's name. I wonder if JK Rowling was giving a small nod to Cruikshank.
